Simple Scrapper June Blog Hop and Giveaway

bloghop-2013

June is here. May was pretty busy with my darling daughter finishing up her junior year in college, a visit from my sister-in-law, my husband’s birthday, Mother’s Day, and moving my daughter from one house to another.

I had a lot of fun using this month’s templates and Story Starters. I’ll start with my story starter inspired layout. I really liked this template from the June collection, but I’m a 12 x 12 scrapper. This was just perfect for my not so wonderful old snapshots. I moved things around a little and copied one of the columns to take up the extra space. Here’s a little look into life back in the 60’s and 70’s in Florida.

This one captures some grumpiness during the family “photo shoot” as my sister-in-law and my daughter are preparing to leave. We did end up with a nice one, but this one was just too much fun to pass up scrapping.

And finally, here is another blast from the past. This is my mom when she was expecting me. This was a jewel of a find during my sister-in-law’s visit. We happen to have an old slide projector. We set it up and when through our stash of mixed up family slides (both sides of our family). I set up my camera on a tripod, we projected the slides onto a piece of poster board taped to the wall. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the results. I don’t know if you’ve ever scanned any slides, but it is a very time consuming process. We captured roughly 140 images over the course of an evening and enjoyed looking to the past.
